Mike Moonen makes collages, prints, drawings, animations, sculptures and e-zines. In the processing of photos and objects that Mike Moonen finds in his environment, he sabotages himself by using software for which it is not intended, or using materials that he has never worked with before. With this he deliberately seeks the boundary between beautiful and ugly, between deliberate and accidental. Coincidences have a great influence on the outcome. However, the works always keep a hint of recognition and you keep asking yourself where you saw that dog before.

Moonen will work with a collection of passport photos for Maastricht Photo Festival, because: "Passport photos, those are the real photos". This installation was created with guest contributions from Peer Pindakaas, LOSDQ and Rowan van As.
